Yes, they're back for yet another round (Number 58!). It's not even April yet and we have a medium level of pollen (cedar and maple) that's starting to kick my ass.Though I feel like I've been hit by a truck, at least it's a Ford Ranger and not an F-250. 

Later in the summer, who knows?

Road Not Taken

One alternative to the economic regulatory mess that everyone seems to have forgotten about (for some odd reason) is simply breaking up the large firms so that they will never be "too big to fail."  It was good enough for Teddy Roosevelt and it's good enough for me.

Pulling Ahead

I just noticed that if you go into Google and search for "Cafe Fiasco" my blog comes up at the top of the list -- just actually ahead of the real Cafe Fiasco in Oslo upon which the blog is named. Though it's good to popular, there's something wrong with this.

Celebrity

Don Imus told millions of people yesterday that he has stage two Prostate Cancer.  Despite the fact that he's a stage up on me, I'm proud to say that I now have a celebrity disease and am therefore eligible for non-stimulus fundraisers.

I knew that things would come my way if only I was patient (and the PC didn't kill me first).

March Madness

Let's see - Boston College is in the Midwest; Cornell is in the West; and Michigan is in the South.  You know, I really don't understand this bracket thing.

Behind the Curve

MIT has announced that it no longer will be sending out rejection letters to applying students.  Rejection decisions will only be given on-line. Far from being the innovator that it alleges to be MIT proves itself to be only catching up with my previous experience on Match.com.

Spring

It was a very nice March day on Sunday. The air was clear and the temprature relatively warm. And I was exhausted for some odd reason and on the couch for most of the day.

Ah, spring. For many snow drops and crocuses. For me, the beginning of the allergy season and the usual full blown attack on the immune system.

I haven't capitulated to the taking of the daily drugs as yet. I'll hold off for as long as I can just out of spite. But it's starting to be spring and I'm about to head back to my clogged life for the 59th time. I really do need a new gig around this time of year.

It's been a year since Craigen Bowen crossed over after a short, graceful, dark, dance with lung cancer and I looked through the book of photos and writing that her friends compiled for her children tonight only to fully remember how much I miss her. 

Sigh.

Time for bed.
