Noticed in the paper today that Bobby Brown was arrested at my old high school for non-support. My guess is that they had the Vice Principal do it.

I haven't been to an Ivy League basketball game before, but I have to think that it's got to be the only place where you'd find a middle-aged woman pull out a scholarly text and start reading during the game.  But, come to think of it, Harvard played so badly that I was sorry that I hadn't brought something to read.  Could be that she'd just been to one of these games before.

Okay, you got me on the exact times.

But the End of the World still only got 73% of the time allocated to tennis. Call me crazy, but I'm for End of the World parity.

Priorities

The allocation of time on Charlie Rose last night:

End of the World - 15 minutes

Superbowl - 15 minutes

Tennis - 30 minutes

To be fair, the end of the world segment (on global climate change) came first.

Grace

Mrs. Grace Spriggs, my stepmother, surrounded by family, crossed from this life at approximately 11:30 am yesterday, February 1, 2007. Grace had been in poor health for the past six months after a nasty fall during the summer. She had slowly made her way back from the hospital to a nursing home and finally back to her home, but never regained her full strength.

Despite these setbacks, she continued to live, as she always had, an independent life. She was a proud and dignified person and she kept these qualities through her health difficulties all the way to the end.

Grace was an athlete - playing a regular round of 18 holes of golf twice a week well into her late 70's. She and my father, who met on the golf course, moved to Florida in the mid-70's and this proved to be the perfect environment for her to polish her skills.

She'll be missed for her bright smile.
